About The Event
Hill HIKE: Blue Mountain Lookout from Blue Mtn Saddle, Missoula 5:00p (approx 2.2 mi roundtrip) This hike is for All fitness levels, All women+
MEET at 4:45p, we’ll depart at 5pm.
The hike from Blue Mountain Saddle up to the fire lookout follows the last mile of the 8-mile Blue Mountain National Recreation Trail. Don't let the name scare you, this 2.2 mile roundtrip hike is for All fitness levels, All women+
How to get there: from Highway 93 in Missoula, drive 2 miles south of Reserve Street to Blue Mountain Road and turn right. Continue 1.3 miles to a road fork, and bear left on unpaved Forest Road #365. Drive 10.3 miles to a signed junction with forest service 2137. Take the right fork straight ahead for 0.3 miles to the signed Blue Mountain Saddle at a horseshoe bend in the road. Park in the pull outs on the right by the post and rail fence.
Wear sturdy shoes, and bring water and bear spray. Parking is limited, carpooling is encouraged and dogs are welcome.
