The hike from Blue Mountain Saddle up to the fire lookout follows the last mile of the 8-mile Blue Mountain National Recreation Trail. Don't let the name scare you, this 2.2 mile roundtrip hike is for All fitness levels, All women+
How to get there: from Highway 93 in Missoula, drive 2 miles south of Reserve Street to Blue Mountain Road and turn right. Continue 1.3 miles to a road fork, and bear left on unpaved Forest Road #365. Drive 10.3 miles to a signed junction with forest service 2137. Take the right fork straight ahead for 0.3 miles to the signed Blue Mountain Saddle at a horseshoe bend in the road. Park in the pull outs on the right…
